May 24, 2012 - bloody hell WOW!!!!!!! always liked prince ie purple rain, but thAT JUST BLEW ME AWAY

corkymick Says:

May 24, 2012 - Listen to David Bowie Moonage daydream,Mick Ronson comes pretty close. I bet Prince listen to him more than once.

19grand Says:

May 24, 2012 - you're not a prince fan then?

corkymick Says:

May 24, 2012 - I love all kinds of music Prince included.

yombute Says:

May 24, 2012 - I LOVE this ....but I would really like to know where that damn guitar goes when he tosses it up at the end. Driving me nuts! LOL!

snico Says:

May 24, 2012 - bloke behind to the right catches it, you see him walking away with as Prince walks off.

rwilliams1256 Says:

May 24, 2012 - Wow!

May 24, 2012 - 19grand...As the saying goes, "opinions are like assholes..everyone's got one and most of them stink"...... except here where only mine stinks!! I danced to 'Little Red Corvette' and '1999' in clubs back in the 80's before many commenting to this video even had heartbeats. Fan? was. Like? not anymore. Admire? yeah. Unfortunately, Prince's immense ego and own personal insecurity took over that night and what your left with is the on-stage guitar masturbation that is this video. Sad actually...

P1Kage Says:

May 24, 2012 - Actually the bloke to the right was playing guitar as well. Right before Prince pulls it over his head you get a shot of the guy playing so he couldn't of caught it. Plus Prince tosses it up n forward not back.

arakrune Says:

May 24, 2012 - Saw a lot of dissing of prince in the comments so here is my 2 cents.... He writes at a level few do just look at his catalog it speaks for itself He plays at a good better or amazing level over 20 instruments His live performances are most often amazing true heart and feel and often special Yes he hasnt done a lot recently but hell with a 13x platinum album he does not have to do anything he don't want to lol I like him and am a fan yes I listen to everything literally

May 25, 2012 - hendrix Just said..........groovy shorty!!

dillonwolf85 Says:

May 25, 2012 - People always think this is a great solo because millions of people watched it on TV, until they hear a real guitar player like Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Mraknroll Says:

May 25, 2012 - Serious? BEST EVER? I'm not disputing that Prince has talent beyond his 90s image, but this isn't even his best solo! There's so many its impossible to list, Santana, Beck, Satriani, Page, Gilmore & Clapton, all have better moments that this 2 minute ego trip! One of the best has to be Gary Moore's INCREDIBLE solo from "Still got the Blues." Listen to this and tell me that talent driven by heart and passion doesn't beat 2 minutes of ego driven self-glorification! youtube.com/watch?v=4O_YMLDvvnw

evilemperordude Says:

May 25, 2012 - Can also be "a musical composition for one voice or instrument (with or without accompaniment)."

mableh1 Says:

May 25, 2012 - Yes, I think we have forgotten what a fabulous guitarist Prince is. He went on to write and produce his own songs, which I might say some were very good, but NEVER heard the solo guitarist he really is. The acoustic guitarist to the center behind Prince of course is Georges son, who can also play a mean guitar, after all it's in the genes,

P1Kage Says:

May 25, 2012 - The opinion of the majority does not automatically dictate the preferance of the few. IMHO Prince and others have done more elaborate solos, but under the circumstances presented: not HIS song, not his band, improvising, showmanship, clarity...only Jimi's Star Spangled Banner comes close.

yombute Says:

May 25, 2012 - I wish I could agree but I think that's Dhani Harrison walking off. I'm sure you must be right, but I'm a little OCD. :-)

Kati Shuman Says:

May 25, 2012 - The whole problem with this video is the heading. If it would have been promoted as just a having a great lead, or a lead to watch! it would never have gotten 1000+ dislikes. it is a great solo. and everyone is entitled to their opinion. but... well i guess it is the way to get almost mil to watch it! it made me. i guess it was promoted the right way! ha ha ha (sometimes i don't process all the way til I'm typing!)

AlfieNoakesOhHo Says:

May 25, 2012 - do you think the dickhead in the red hat understands the concept of a guitar "gently weeping"? No "!"

DennisOS2 Says:

May 25, 2012 - ABSOLUTELY! Great performance by Prince. I, for one, didn't realize how great a guitarist he is. Knew he was good, but this ..........WOW!

DennisOS2 Says:

May 25, 2012 - Is there a list of all the musicians in this vid?

mtzlplex Says:

May 25, 2012 - Jeff Young - Piano / Steve Winwood - Organ / Steve Ferrone - Drums / Jim Capaldi - Conga Drums and Tambourine / Marc Mann - Guitar(first solo) / Jeff Lynne - Guitar-Vocals / Tom Petty - Guitar-Vocals / Dhani Harrison - Guitar-Vocals / Prince - Guitar(second solo) / Scott Thurston - Bass

P1Kage Says:

May 25, 2012 - There are other postings of this performance with different titles. None of them have over one mil hits. If you enjoyed it, why complain? If you didn't then type the name of your favorite guitarist into the search bar, load your favorite performance of theirs, sit back, and enjoy. Then respond to those noobs who will undoubtedly say that your artist sucks.
