The second music video I directed while at Sheridan College. I did my work placement at a place called "Stargate Studios". They did motion control special effects, old skool with servo motors and a 35mm camera hooked up to a PC. Stuff you can do in 5 minutes in AE now, but then it was cutting edge, or at least a dull edge. Doug Campbell was the DOP there and asked me if I wanted to direct a video for a band his brother played guitar in. "Sure, what's the band." "The Forgotten Rebels," Doug said like no big deal. I said said "hell ya", cuz that's how I talk. We wanted to make a glamorous fake live extravaganza for next to no money. Mickey DeSadest came to set with a suitcase full of sunglasses. Good times indeed. Dave McGuie edited this and really did all the work. I remember we shot at the same studio they shot "Robocop" at. The Series, not the film, so it was only pretty cool, not awesome cool. I think Doug is still doing special fx out there somewhere? Enjoy!
