xdancergirlx01 Says:
Nov 9, 2011 - because on flat, you have the bones in your foot that you are balancing on directly, and en pointe, there is the platform that is flat and more stable to turn on
aneal138 Says:
Nov 13, 2011 - I think she should hold the true world record for most pirouettes since Alicia Clifton didn't even wear ballet shoes.
DancerAngel22 Says:
Nov 14, 2011 - no i would think flat (Hopefully you mean on the balls of your feet) Ballet is good for every dancer to have taken for a good long time. You work a lot of core and gracefulness.
JJo27rainier Says:
Nov 17, 2011 - less friction with the floor

Dec 1, 2011 - omfg............. here i am barely doing 3 on pointe lol
Banapoly Says:
Dec 3, 2011 - Easy, less friction. There is less surface area on a pointe shoe, so it is easier to go arounf and around (10 times)
ohnoyoudidnt35 Says:
Dec 6, 2011 - because it is easier to balance and its flatter and once u get up u can go for a longer time
nightsfire Says:
Dec 12, 2011 - ... Right, but those weren't even ballet pirouettes. Why would they have to be? It's not just a ballet term.
TrnsfrmerPrncs4lyfe Says:

Dec 31, 2011 - Wow her foot didn't move an inch!
DorkGirl14 Says:
Jan 3, 2012 - It is DEFINITELY not easier to do pirouettes on pointe (it takes a while to master it) but, once you do get it, it's easier because the end of the shoe is completely flat, so that way your feet aren't working against the surface you're spinning on.
jkokich Says:
Jan 3, 2012 - Awesome!
flyingDancerBdS Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - if she held her arms better she could probably do 1 or 2 more!

KelOfMindelan Says:
Mar 3, 2012 - it's not easier when you consider the entire movement, but it's easier to do more turns because you have a smaller, generally smoother surface area.

I Practice ballet at home a few times a week, and i have been doing so for two years now. Could i go en pointe? (Ive got videos and such on my channel)
