Oct 24, 2011 - How can we fight for a free world, full of peace and life if we can't come to peace with each other online?

Nov 10, 2011 - People who say that this is the greatest country in the world have never been anywhere else.

Nov 24, 2011 - The song was recorded in !970 it was the B side to the single Ohio. Both songs refer to the Kent State shootings of May 4th 1970. Like most great Art it can mean something different to everyone or nothing at all to some. However I do believe it was written and intended for the anti war movement. The cost they speak of refers to the 4 students who were killed at Kent State. It was a troubled time in America and the emotion of that era still emerge for those who lived through it.

Nov 24, 2011 - I am a veteran, but not of the Vietnam Era nor have I ever served in combat. I am lucky. I think if we look back we will see that this song speaks for all who have given their life for a belief that we can do better. It's a song for those who died protesting a government they felt was wrong at the time as well as a song for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice defending Liberty! One last thing! This is the greatest country in the world and who ever says it isn't has never seen the real world!

Dec 31, 2011 - Well thanks for making the world a better place. It takes real courage to speak out for the right wing after Gee Whiz Bush bankrupt the country & 1/2 the world, gave Iraqi's "freedom" (from their lives) for being his scapegoat; and setback fresh air 40 years, after the liberal scumbags cleaned it up even tho we thought it impossible to, then forced you to breathe it. Stay Brave man, keep spouting the line of the ignorant majority. We all love you for it

Jan 16, 2012 - Truly, I am surprised. Let this song capture more than just "Amercia" ; we are but a pimple on the face of history. Think over the ages at all the brave in battle and voice that have helped to make such forums possible. It is not death that buys our freedom, it is the willingness and grit to go for and claim it despite the odds.

Jan 18, 2012 - @1of99percent Wake yourself up the hour is late, we're gonna love you with or without your permission so YOU deal with it, one with me and doesn't realize, i'll always love you so enjoy your day! and may your loved ones have the Goodness with them also!!
MrStuVW Says:
Jan 18, 2012 - Don't fret, i'm on your side, i work with God. these that are having a time need the most love, i'm sure you can tell, the change happening on this planet is because the planet is dying and humans failed if they don't forget about their having a hard time and surrender to the goodness. our earth will prevail but the hate is going away for the healing to begin. i pray for people stuck in that hate rut, it could really ruin your day or more, think good thoughts and that goodness will be!
MrStuVW Says:
Jan 18, 2012 - @1of99percent You should stop watching fox, its distorted your heart.

Jan 24, 2012 - For the people who fought to make this country a country. And the generations following who fought to keep this country a country. Where unfortunately our dear politicisna re slowly taking those same rights our founding fathers fought to make away from us. Republican, Democrat. Different noise same end. Loss of freedom. Loss of our rights. The more we give away the more we are no longer free.

Apr 12, 2012 - You know it is special when a song is as relevant today as it was 40 years ago. Unfortunately there will never be peace and for most, the cost of freedom is paying someone else's debt. To all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, thank you. Gone but not forgotten.

May 4, 2012 - @ThelmaMaude2 - Your comment provoked a lot of thought. Thanks for that. I've lived in several countries and been pretty much all over the planet. "Greatest country" is pretty subjective, I'll admit - but I respectfully disagree with you. For all of our flaws, I really do believe there's nowhere else I would rather live, struggle, survive, work and pass along a legacy.
rainmaneverson Says:
