I would like to introduce you to the famous Catholic singer and guitarist, John Michael Talbot. John was raised in the Methodist faith in Oklahoma City, OK. John started playing guitar at age 10 and by his teens he was the guitarist for the folk/rock band, Mason Proffit. As John got older he realized that there was more to life than what he'd been experiencing and started on a search for God. John explored many eastern religions but ended up deeper in Christianity. During this time period in the 70's John recorded two solo albums entitled: John Michael Talbot and The New Earth. John discovered the writings of St. Francis of Assisi and was greatly inspired by the truth he found. In 1978 John converted to the Catholic Church and joined the Third Order of Franciscans. John founded a house of prayer and eventually went on to founding a new religious community called The Brothers and Sisters of Charity, a community for religious Brothers and Sisters as well as Lay couples and singles. John supports his community through his music. Starting with his Christian awakening in the 1970s, John has recorded 51 Christian albums.
