Nov 4, 2011 - My church choir has a "ringer" quintet that is going to perform this as part of our annual Christmas concert. The piece is just breathtakingly beautiful, especially in a large stone cathedral like this one where the dissonances can mix and play around with each other.

Nov 4, 2011 - The Coventry Carol is an older hymn. "Lully, Lulla, Lullay" (this piece) uses the same lyrics, set to a new melody/harmony.

Nov 28, 2011 - Well depending on your group and your concert schedule, your director may not think there's time to do it this Christmas. But, there's always next year.

Nov 29, 2011 - Very true. That way we could put in the emotion, the passion and make it a wonderful piece! :)

Dec 16, 2011 - Oh. My. Lord! This is one of the most beautiful pieces of choral music I have ever heard! I've been obsessing over it for three days now... it's got my insides all twisted up in an emotional wreck, which is kinda awkward at work, but it's a good thing. How do I get my hands on a copy of this score? I HAVE to take this to my director - my choir will HAVE to perform this next Christmas!

Dec 18, 2011 - I totally agree and understand what you are saying, I've been playing this non stop for a few days myself! In a season where it's more busy than silent - music like this causes us to pause and listen to the glory of God..at least that's how I hear it. Blessings!
