http://www.williamfairbairn.co.nz William was born in 1997 he has been composing music since age four; and is described as a music genius. He became an Australasian Song Writing Award Winner & full APRA member at age seven. Public Performer since age seven" New Zealand & Brisbane, entertaining at Food and Wine Festivals, Nelson Airport, Cafés, Christchurch Art Centre, Jazz Festivals, Fundraisers, Auckland Maori Television Anzac Day Special, National Television, Bearded Dragon Brisbane, New Zealand Music Month, Santa Parades, Hard Rock Café, Surfers Paradise QLD, Corporate Events, & numerous other venues including his own Concerts and Recitals. Confidently plays with other bands when required, including Orchestras. He also has had his own band, "Generation Gap" in New Zealand. William captivates his audience with ease, and takes them on a journey from laughter to tears as he pours his soul & passion into his music. Recorded two CDs, one at age seven another at age eight. Plays Piano, Pipe Organ, Keyboard, Guitar, Harmonica and Sings, From Classical to Jazz, Blues, Country, Pop and Rock'n Roll. This Multi Award Winners music room is lined with Awards, Cups, Certificates & Trophies, his dedication is eminent. Two of his compositions (War Flowers) which contains moving lyrics about a Soldier at War and (Tribute to Mount Erebus) an instrumental piece that captures an airy imagination of New Zealand's worst air disaster, both composed at the age of ten, demonstrate his amazing ability to convey emotional impact into his music way beyond his years. These two compositions were entered into the 2008 UK Song Writing Competitions open section and both became Semi Finalists, among the top 15% World Wide. He became one of only five New Zealand's finalists" for the 2010 Corporate Events" People's Choice Awards, 2010 he Was honoured" to be personally invited by Sir Cliff Richard to meet with him, during his New Zealand Tour, he met at the Westpac Arena, in Christchurch, He told William he had a very "rare and remarkable Talent, and that he was waiting to seeing him at the top of the charts" August 2010 he performed a Mozart Concerto for 3 Pianos and Orchestra; this has never been done in Nelson before, it was a great success. 2011 William met with David Helfgott the Pianist" made famous from the movie "Shine" after listening to William play his own compositions" they requested some of his music to be written to score for David Helfgott to perform, which William has now completed & sent. Sponsorships would help toward recording his new compositions and establishing his career. William was also nominated for the 2011 NZ Corporate events People's Choice Awards. Since locating in Australia May 2011 he had already made lasting impressions where ever he had performed" including Australia's biggest Morning tea, "Cancer Fundraiser" The famous Hard Rock Café Surfers Paradise, Story Bridge Hotel, with the Brisbane Jazz Band, Fete De La, Musique Brisbane "World Music Day" The Music Kafe, The Avenue Bar & Café Surfers Paradise, he was Nominated for McDonalds & Quest Newspapers, Youngstar Awards" he won the Irish Bar Talent of the night, & was very honored to win "Raw Talent" in Currumbin RSL on the Gold Coast. William returned to NZ in September 2011 for pre-arranged commitments & recording, until late March 2012 where he will settle back in Brisbane and be available for his bookings.
