He has enjoyed success as an artist with two albums on Capitol Records and a string of hits like his Top 10 single "Lipstick Promises." Ducas preceded his recording career by penning Radney Foster's solo career launching Top 10 hit "Call Me Lonesome," and has continued to score as a writer of hits for Sara Evans (her multi-week #1 song "A Real Fine Place To Start"), George Jones and Garth Brooks (the Top 20 duet "Beer Run") and the Eli Young Band ("Always The Love Songs," which hit the Top 10). After taking a hiatus to devote himself to raising his daughter and son in their early years, Ducas returns to performing shows across his home state with his Texas-based band. He follows the trail blazed by his early prime inspiration, Willie Nelson. "We've seen it done before by Texans in the past," he notes of Nelson's return to Texas some four decades ago. "It worked really well and was the right thing to do musically and spiritually, and it feels that way to me too." And the energy and creativity of today's Lone Star music scene was already beckoning Ducas as such leading lights as Kevin Fowler and the Young and Rogers Bands sought him out as a song source and writing partner. The results include his Top 40 song for Rogers, "Kiss Me In The Dark," the band's biggest national hit to date, and the Top 10 Eli Young Band country chart single that was also the #1 Texas music song for 2009.
