My name isn't Ted and I'm not very big. I'm from Hereford (born 1950), live in South Wales now. I grew up loving folk music - the Incredible String Band are my all-time favourite - thats where the name Big Ted comes from. I'm a Christian; regular lay preacher at two small Baptist churches. I bake my own bread and grind my own coffee...now I'm retired its nice to take a little time over things. I enjoy strumming on the guitar and would like to be able to play properly, but I'm far too lazy to get into serious lessons and practice sessions so I'm happy with my three or four basic chords. I know I can't sing well but I don't really care - I'm just having fun here! Sorry for the fuzzy videos, I can't afford a decent camera. Anyway I feel pretty fuzzy most of the time. Please feel free to have a look at my Favourites and Playlists and suggest any additions. Thank you...to lovers of evening: Good Evening! I've started another YouTube channel just for worship type songs: it is PreacherStuartSongs.Videos (94)

Not a typical song for me perhaps but I've had a crazy sort of day. I was messing around with Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" when I recalled this song by Barry Dransfield from his eponymous 1972 solo album...I like the fact that we are invited to feel sympathy for the monster who destroys...

One of THE great songs: written by Sandy Denny and performed by her on Fairport Convention's "Unhalfbricking" album...although its normally sung by a woman I couldn't resist having a go at it....such simple lyrics but so powerful.

Unusually for a Steeleye Span song this is not a traditional piece, but a song written by the band for their 1996 album "Time". Its got a sadness to it, but an optimism as well, a combination which kind of appeals to me....
