AGR Television Records is an independent record label attached to the international division of the Universal Music Group. Utilizing the freedom of an indie label and the muscle of a major distribution AGR Television Records has been able to achieve success in an industry struggling with difficult times. Universal Music Germany introduced AGR Television Records after recognizing the need for a portal to provide Country Music Artists access to Germany's growing market. After the success of AGR Television Records initial releases, developing interest within the European Universal Group led AGR Television Records to being moved into the International Division of UMG. Within the next few years AGR Television Records became one of the most successful record labels for country music in Europe, continuing expansion in 2008 and starting to move into a variety of Music Genres, doubling its staff and restructuring its personnel. AGR Television Records is fully owned by AGR Television Records GmbH and represented by General Manager Rolf J. Schmidt. Registered at the Luebeck courts under the file number HRB 8048, AGR Television Records GmbH also owns 50% of AGR Television Music Publishing.
